Trauma-informed Care in the Medical Genetics Clinic

The Midwest Genetics Network (MGN) unites patients, families, geneticists, genetic professionals, primary care providers, payers and public health experts to improve equity in access to genetic services to medically underserved populations.

Studies have shown that children and families with genetic diseases are at higher risk for exposure to trauma. Thus, medical genetics clinics who serve these patients and families play instrumental roles in helping support families in need. MGN is committed to providing educational opportunities to increase access to care and address barriers.
